Santana Lopez is an alumni of William McKinley High School, where she served as the co-captain of the Cheerios, and has been a member of New Directions and the The Troubletones. Though Santana has a history of relationships with a series of male characters, she is a lesbian and is currently in a relationship with her best friend Brittany Pierce, with whom she previously maintained a 'friends-with-benefits' arrangement. Santana is introduced as an antagonist alongside Quinn and Brittany as one of the three most popular cheerleaders at school. She is seen as a stereotypical bitchy cheerleader who remarks on her cruel attitude. It is later revealed that the motivations behind Santana's antagonism and her sexual aggressiveness towards boys is due to the fact that she is struggling with her romantic feelings towards Brittany, and subsequently with her lesbian identity. However in Season 3 she finally comes out and is proud of her sexuality and herself. She has currently graduated from McKinley high with a number of other members of the Glee Club. Unfortunately her girlfriend Brittany didn't achieve the grades to graduate and will return to school next year. She's currently conflicted whether to use the check her mom gave her and follow her dream to go to New York and become famous or to stay in Lima with Brittany until she graduates. | APPEARANCE
Santana is a young female, aged 18 years old. She is a Latina and proud of it with dark, olive toned skin. Her hair is long and a very dark brown. When she's in her Cheerios outfit it's scraped back into a ponytail but when she's not it hangs past her shoulders in waves. Her eyes are also a dark brown color. She is extremely attractive and grabs the attention of many of the guys at school. Since she's very athletic her body is slim but very toned. | |
PERSONALITY
Santana, like Quinn, has been primarily shown to be something of a cheerleading stereotype. Quick to pass judgment and insult and even bully other people, Santana seems to find no issue flaunting her spot on the social ladder that is High School, and is not happy about being made co-captain of the Cheerios together with Becky in season three. However, she refrains from making fun of her disability, but it's unclear if it was due to having some sympathy for Becky or just out of fear of Sue. Santana also demonstrates occasional signs of kindness, usually with the Glee Club after a good performance or in her interactions with Brittany. She has admitted that she loves being in Glee Club, and that it is the best part of her day. She follows up this confession with instructions that if anyone asks, they are to say that she hates it, showing that she cares a lot about her image. Still, after believing Glee is over, Santana shows real emotion and cries. Santana gets jealous quite easily, especially when it concerns her sexual partners. Santana acts confident but it has been proven on few occasions she's actually insecure, like when she got a boob job over the summer so people would notice her more. She gets incredibly hostile when her weaknesses are exposed, examples including attacking Quinn in the hall for telling Sue about her "summer surgery" and having Santana knocked down to the bottom of the pyramid. It's also been shown that while she has no problem insulting and putting down others, she can "dish it out but can't take it," and gets upset when the glee club members turn on her, showing she cares a lot about what people think of her. she admits that she acts like a bitch all the time because she's angry due to the fact that she has so many feelings for Brittany that confuse her and she doesn't deal with because she's afraid of dealing with the consequences. These feelings also scare her because she's afraid of the looks, the talks, and what people will say about her behind her back if she comes out. | |||
